Skills To Foster Pre-Approval Training
March 13, 2017
Did you know?
After attending one of our information sessions and having your initial assessment visit, the next thing to do is attend our pre-approval training course, Skills to Foster.
Skills to Foster is the national framework for the training and assessment of foster carers that every fostering service in the UK uses. Skills to Foster is developed and managed by The Fostering Network, the leading organisation that supports foster carers in the UK.
Services deliver Skills to Foster in different ways, in Warrington we usually run the course five times per year, over three full days. This is normally a Monday, Tuesday and the following Monday, from 9.30am- 3.30pm, close to Warrington Town Centre.
We are now also working more closely with our neighbouring authorities of Halton, Cheshire East, and Cheshire West and Chester and are starting to share each other’s training. As such, if you’re not able to attend any of the Warrington Skills to Foster dates, you can now alternatively attend the course in Halton, Cheshire East or Cheshire West and Chester, if that fits in better for you. These courses may run at weekends or during the evenings, so by offering these to applicants, there is far more flexibility. Although you may be attending Skills to Foster in a neighbouring authority, you will still be assessed by and become a foster carer for Warrington. You would just be attending their training.
Upcoming Skills to Foster dates:
Monday, Tuesday and the following Monday. 9.30am- 3.30pm.
Saturday, Sunday and the following Sunday. 9.30am- 3.30pm
